Sweeney Studio

Sweeney Studio is the creative practice of Western Australian artist and muralist Desmond Sweeney, whose work is shaped by landscape, atmosphere and scale. Moving between expressive seascapes, expansive landscapes and immersive scenic compositions, his work captures movement, light and a strong sense of place.

With a background in traditional sign painting, scenic art and large-scale mural work, Desmond brings an instinctive understanding of how artwork can live within architecture. Visible brushwork, softened transitions and atmospheric colour give each design the presence of an original painting, while allowing it to sit naturally within residential, hospitality and commercial interiors. Through Sweeney Studio’s collaboration with Milton & King, Desmond’s painterly approach is translated into wallcoverings that bring art, material and landscape together across the interior.
