However, grasscloth wallcovering can be more costly, challenging to install, and demands more maintenance compared to standard wallpapers. • Grasscloth wallcovering has a naturally imperfect charm. Each roll of the same design can vary in shade and texture, and there can even be differences between a sample and the full roll. These variations are features, not flaws, of the woven natural material. The plants used to compose grasscloth wallcoverings receive different levels of sun exposure. In addition, the dyes may be absorbed unevenly, leading to expected colour differences between pieces. This characteristic, known as shading, contributes to grasscloth’s and natural’s unique appeal. If you prefer consistent uniformity across sheets, grasscloth wallcoverings may not be the best choice for you.
• While these Grasscloth and natural wallcoverings do feature a pattern repeat, due to the inherent variations present in natural fibres, perfect alignment is not possible and visible seams where panels meet are to be expected.
